Henderson Row Grounds
The Henderson Row site benefits from two unique outdoor spaces. We have Donaldson’s Garden tucked behind the Main Hall and a former parade ground, The Academy Quad at the very front of the site.
The Academy Quad
This is the huge space in front of the Main Hall bound by the Academy walls. It’s the first space you see as you enter the gates and is used day to day as a car park and playground. However, it can be transformed into an amazing event space. It could be dressed as a grand entrance to an event at the Main Hall, used to house a marquee, or configured to host an exhibition or market.

Donaldson’s Garden
Walk through the Academy Quad and turn left after the Main Hall and you enter a green oasis. Donaldson’s Garden is a large heart-shaped lawn area studded with trees and bordered by broad patio pathways. It’s a peaceful, secluded spot ideal for drinks receptions, outdoor parties and as a place to relax in between conference sessions or performances. There’s room for a small marquee, or for picnic tables and benches across the space.

- Completely private green sanctuary in the heart of the New Town.
- Can be hired alongside any indoor space on the site, or as a space in itself.
- Ideal space for a small marquee or outside seating and tables.
